Born in 1994 in Aqtau. She lives and works in Almaty.
Lyazzat Khanim is a visual artist and designer from Kazakhstan. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2017. Since then she has dedicated herself to oil painting. Khanim’s photorealistic artwork, with the occasional venture into the surreal, concentrates on the simplicity and complexity of everyday environments. Khanim focuses on documenting and addressing such themes as equality and consumerism by turning her personal experiences toward the public dimension, and vice versa.
Notable recent exhibitions include Flowers of Evil at the YEMAA Center of Contemporary Culture in Atyrau (2022), Safety Instinct at the Ayusai Visitor Centre in Almaty (2021) and Here. There. Nowhere at the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture in Almaty (2021).
